What the Heck is Going On?

Well. 3 years have passed.

We’re in the middle of a pandemic, the kids are homeschooling. Des is 9 and Samara is just turned 6.

How does one update someone if 3 years have gone by? “Hi, I’m alive. The world is crazy. But I’m alive. The kids are good. Hubs is working from home (again), but we’re fine. We’re alive, we’re good. Summer just flew by. I’m exhausted and we just started the school year.”

“How are you? How’s the pandemic life? You good? Yeah, we’re all going crazy. But you’re good right?”

This is our 2nd year of homeschool because of the pandemic. I don’t think I wanted the kids to be thinking about Covid the whole time they’re trying to learn. “Wear your mask properly! Did you wash your hands? Keep your distance!” Phew! I feel for all the parents, administrators, and staff at the school and especially the kids. It’s hard. I feel privileged to have the option to homeschool the kids. It’s not for the weak but it’s definitely made learning so fun for the kids, and even for myself.

We wait for things and they take forever to arrive. But with the kids, it’s like the breaks are not working in this car. It’s going so fast, next thing you know they’re out of your house. Am I the only one feeling this way?

Samara is 6! How did that happen? Wasn’t she 2 just yesterday? How did she start tying her own hair? When did she start making her own breakfast or helping me with dishes or putting her clothes away?

Des is 9. He’s starting to get moody. Reads a lot and is definitely into Minecraft. He’s still my sweet sweet boy. He’s thoughtful and loves and cares for his sis. I love seeing him and his sis play so well together. I mean they definitely have their not-so-nice to each other days, but mostly, they love to play with each other.

It has been some years since I last posted on here. I still don’t sleep well. You know, kids. But despite the craziness of the world. We’re doing ok. I have some exciting things coming up and hope that you’ll stay for the adventure.
